Inspiration...

My inspiration to build this amplifier began when my dad started talking about Bob Carvers D-500 as shown below.












As he showed me these it got me wondering..... what if I built one? And thus my "1000 watt amp project" began....



After looking around I thought i found the perfect circuit.. but later once built failed and did not work so a new pioneer front end circuit was acquired tweaked and then build for my driver. The original 1000 watt goal was also pushed out by the new 2000 watt (stereo) amp.

This is what the circuit was modded out of... my dad helped me find the circuit.






 
Not only did all the parts have a gain upgrade, but all of them also had a voltage upgrade too. As one of the first surprises was that the voltage was over by +- 10 V the calculated amount!!!!

This caused some major problems, first with the main ($80$) filter caps only rated for 100v....
I am only running a 15v safety between absolute max voltage. :(
